Etiquette Tips for Your Wedding Guest List

A wedding guest list can be very stressful because people’s feelings are involved, that is why etiquette could be very helpful when you decide to compile your wedding guest list.
Here are some quick tips:

    • Establish a budget
    • The head count at your reception is the biggest expense in your wedding budget, find out how much money you can spend per guest on food and use that amount to find out the number of guests you can invite.
    • There should be 3 lists before creating a master list. B List A is the guest list for you and your spouse-to-be, List, B should be for your parents and list C spouse-to-be’s parents. Compile these lists and try to decide in an polite matter with a way to come up with a final master list and reach the desired number of guests that fit into the budget.
    • Do not feel obligated to invite coworkers
    • Always spell out street names, such as Avenue, Boulevard, and Street, on all invitations.
    • Always spell out professional titles, such as Doctor and Reverend, and all military titles (General, Major, and so on.) for names on your invitations.
    • Don’t include academic titles, such as PhD, on the invitation unless the person is a minister with a theological degree.
    • Don’t include nicknames on the invitations.
